On the New Moon we rest. We dream. We go within.
If not full rest, which is hard in our 9-to-5, six-days-a-week work craze,
Then we rest by being soft with ourselves.
I have to work today. I’ve had issues that took me away from work and so,
today, when I planned on being in silence, I will work. I did sleep late!
So my plan was to make choices. I have no outside commitments today, no meetings. The work I am doing is traditionally women’s work, as I am needle-pointing,
quiet stitches, in-and-out, repairing a broken tapestry for a 18th century fauteuil. No computer work, no chattering with our work neighbors in the hall. Even our dinner
for tonight is slow-roast herbal chicken!
If I had a busy job, a sales clerk or telecommunications operator, today I might take my lunch break in a quiet spot outdoors, or be in silence early or late. Choices can almost always be made. And if not, then you just be gentle with yourself, watch you inner chatter.
I have no idea what the next moonth will bring, but it will be new.
I ditched the idea of planning ahead, so as you all follow along toward the class,
you will see what it looks like being stuck (if I am stuck),
being inspired (I like that one better), and being real.
We need more real in this world, and more inner wisdom.
